Search Engine Fun

Monday, March 6th, 2006

I’m VERY curious as to why not one but two people reached my website by searching for “animosity between crows and squirrels.”
Jane Fonda urinal sticker” I understand. “Idioms kettle of worms” amuses me, but I can at least somewhat figure out. “Midlle east store” seems logcial. I do mkae the occasional error in typography. And I must say I’m proud to have my site come up for “explosive triggering device.”

Various other entertaining search strings (with numbers of times following, if more than one):
“perchlorate fish heads”
“gun-type barner” (2)
“lignite deposits of ukraine”
“syzygy war and terror boards”
“the british are weird”
“monkey on febreze commercials”
“cartoons with trolls” (4)
“banalization”
“erin kelly counterintelligence”
“board of revision of taxes mechanicsburg pa”
“2005 article on french linguistics”
“slime mold beetle”
“noises heard underground russia”
“pranks with viagra”
“ahhhhhhh waaaaaaaa schiavo speaks”
“photographs pius x11 death”
“rummel-bulska”
“al qaeda other tasks 2/12/05″
“kh-55 as-15 iran”
“solzhenitsyn tsunami tidal wave”
“howard bloom tsunami pennsylvania”

As you can tell, all of the search engines seem to be insane.

Katrina Revealed

Monday, March 6th, 2006

There’s an interesting article here about the Popular Mechanics article that absolutely took apart the mass media coverage of Hurricane Katrina (and more particularly, the aftermath).
Via my dad.
