This article about China’s rise in military power is quite interesting. I still don’t know exactly what to think about China — they’re an enigmatic bunch, and will likely stay that way — but it’s definitely important to keep an eye on events in that portion of the world.

It’s sad that I have to put that as a headline, but investigating the Hariri assassination is one of the smarter things that the UN has done lately.
Hopefully the UN investigation of this incident will be better than their investigation of the Oil-For-Food scandal, but I’m not holding my breath.
