It turns out that despite all the claims to the contrary, Bush received less favorable media coverage then Kerry during the election. Even if various individual attacks (like CBS’s attack on Bush’s Guard service) weren’t explicitly politically based, the overall effect of implicit media bias is still blatantly obvious even to such institutions as Columbia’s School of Journalism. Now we know why Fox is so soundly reviled — they made Iraq out to be a positive story. Following the January elections there, it seems as if they were more right than, say, PBS.
