The Bush administration has chosen a new ambassador to the UN. Despite the various Democrats whining about how this is a “dissappointing choice” and how he is opposed to “working with our allies,” it seems to me that it’s about time that somebody with a bit of skepticism toward the UN was appointed in a position where they could make waves. The UN cannot remain an effective force for good in the world if it remains a bureaucratic institution that refuses to accept any kind of reform. This is what has happened to this point, and something needs to be done about it.
