NYT And Bush

Saturday, February 19th, 2005

The New York Times has an article out about recordings of Bush made by a friend before he became President. The tapes present Bush as very human, and his personal life as very much like his public portrayal of his life. Aside from a few snide comments (like referring to Steve Forbes as “another son of privilege with a famous last name”) the Times actually does a fairly decent and impartial job on this one. Like most things about President Bush, I think this will only endear him to those who already like him, and drive the people who hate him absolutely batty (although it does portray his generally mild opinions on gays much more accurately than most of the rabid anti-Bush crowd likes to pretend).

Save Money

You can save money by eating here. I bet a 65 year old “retired junior high school English teacher” in that setting would be enough to put most people off their chow.
