Tuesday, October 26th, 2004Non-traditional polling at its best. There are advantages to this one beyond just the cell-phone-only people: it provides a time lapse average instead of a snapshot in time (say, following a debate) and therefore is more likely to reflect opinions of large groups over the long term, and not instantaneously. Imagine it like the slope of a line: the slope over a range is generally more indicitive of the slope than the instantaneous slope at any point (assuming, of course, that the line itself jiggles and wiggles up and down a lot.) Plus, the sample is millions of people.
