Don't read this unless you can handle a heavy dose of sarcasm. It really amuses me though.

Thursday, September 2nd, 2004A site listing a LOT of the things Kerry said and wrote when he came back from Vietnam in protest of the war, including his book The New Soldier, which would cost you several hundred dollars if you could get ahold of a copy… it seems almost all of them were bought up (theoretically, at least, by people working for Kerry) before Kerry started running for office. If you read it, you'll see why he wanted to hide it.

Thursday, September 2nd, 2004This is HILARIOUS. Imagine an older southern gentleman and a reporter that pisses him off. A LOT.

Thursday, September 2nd, 2004Some progress in the hostage situation in Russia. The pictures are quite striking, particularly this one. The left half of the picture strongly evokes religious art: a concerned looking young woman (who actually resembles Mary in the Pietà holding a naked child that seems almost Christ-like who is holding a pose much like one would expect in a sculpture. The right half is almost completely taken up by a spetsnaz soldier (Russian special operations — that's what the insignia on his flak jacket says) who is immensely large, quite hairy, carrying a Kalashnikov, and staring right into the camera while cradling an infant. The woman and child on the left are both gazing at the child, while the soldier looks intensely right at the viewer.
In other news, I have a pair of combat fatigues like he's wearing.
